New Mage Questing

Postby Charybdis » May 8, 2003 (2:15 pm)

I think I've got the basics worked out, but I'm going to constantly be on the lookout for any advice my fellow adventurers would be willing to provide.

So far I've been informed that spellcraft is the only real neccessity when training, but I was wondering what else would be a good area for me to focus. Since Charybdis is only level 2 now, and combat being so difficult for the time being, are there any other options I would have for experience gain in a non-combat enviornment as a mage?

Any combat strategies or other information would be most welcome, too.

Glad to meet you all. :)

I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that spellcraft only allowed you to recognize what spells were being cast, and that concentration was also essential for casting them properly.

I'm not sure...maybe with more experience in these lands I'll be able to come to a conclusion.

I have noticed that my level 1 spells are regenerating faster now that I'm a level 2 mage...is this optimism or a fact of the spell regen?

Optimism and truth.

I increased spell regeneration by about 225% recently. No NEWS announcement yet as I'm still playing with numbers.

Well just so you know, from a new mage standpoint these regen rates are a lot better. I still can't kill anything off by myself, but they are definitely an improvement from before.
