What kind of game is Eaxia Online?
Eaxia is a role-playing adventure textual game set in a medieval era in which you control a fantasy
character. Your interactions with other characters and the game elements create a rich environment of
quest-seeking adventurers, battle-hungry creatures, and powerful magics. You may be recruited by a
holy avatar on a quest to rid the land of evil or you may be staring down a dragon while your heart beats
fast and your hand grips your blade. Be you merchant, warrior, or mage, fortune is yours to take...
if you're brave enough.

What does Eaxia Online cost? Isn't it free?
Eaxia Online can be played at absolutely no cost. Our free accounts come with a number of restrictions
and gameplay requirements while our paid account subscriptions have a number of benefits. While it is
your own personal choice whether to play Eaxia Online for free or if you should subscribe to a paid account,
the benefits involved in the paid accounts should not give any player a game advantage over other players.
We believe in keeping a fair game among paying and non-paying players.
Players who decide to pay a small service fee for playing Eaxia Online support the game by providing funding
to balance the costs of hardware, staffing expenses, internet services, etc. required to maintain the gaming system.
There are currently multiple rates for different paid accounts, starting at only $8.99 per month.

What classes/guilds are there?
Characters are able to choose from a set of standard, readily-available classes in most towns.
Each class is different and joining will sometimes require different tasks. A cleric may need to
prove their devotion before a temple or sect will embrace them while a ranger may not have any
centralized location to learn their path. Classes range from tried-and-true fighters to cunning thieves,
mystic wizards to powerful necromancers. With a wide selection of twenty unique classes, you'll have
plenty of opportunity to create a character unique to your own taste.

How many classes are there in total?
We have a planned twenty classes in total. Five of those are base classes which all
characters must begin as and the remaining fifteen are prestige classes which allow evolution from
the five base classes. Of the prestige classes, ten of them have been released and five are under
current development, slated for a release mid 2006. For example, clerics, after
demonstrating their readiness, may evolve to Priests, Paladins, Necromancers, Druids, and Healers
depending on the path they would like to choose.

Some online gaming systems have a rent system where you have to pay to save your items before you log off.
Other games don't let you keep your items at all. How is this handled in Eaxia Online?
A character's entire state is automatically saved during the character signoff process, even if your
connection is lost ("dropped", "link-dead", disconnected, etc.), including where the
character was, the character's inventory, sicknesses, magical afflictions, and other character data.

Is role-playing strictly enforced or only encouraged?
We feel that although role-playing is a very important part of the fantasy realm of this game,
interaction with other characters is not always necessary or required. Characters are be required to
stay in-character while in the gaming environment to avoid disturbing other players, however.

Is there a food and drink system?
As of this time, we have no intentions of requiring characters to consume food or drink though

What is the policy regarding macroing, scripting, unattended experience gain, or any situation where the
character can gain some advantage, bonus, or reward while the player is not actually at their computer (or actively
aware of the game, for example -- browsing the internet)?
These situations are not tolerated to any degree. There are systems in place to determine who is participating
in these types of activities and we go into greater detail in our Player Agreement Policy regarding definitions and
consequences.

What happens when a character dies?
Generally speaking, when your character dies, you remain where you are -- a broken body laying helplessly. You
may choose to wait and hope that other characters come to aid you, even resurrecting you back to life, but you may
also need to release your spirit from your body (RELEASE command). When you do, your old body vanishes and the
inventory you were wearing is sucked into a grave for you. You, on the other hand, are whisked away into a fresh,
new body -- resurrected by a local temple or wizard's tower. Releasing your spirit weakens you, resulting in a
slight loss of experience. From that time, you have about one hour to return to your grave and recover your
inventory. Any items you were holding (weapons, shield, etc.) drop to the ground and may be permanently lost.
